Hammond Transportation & Parkbus to expand city-to-park bus network this summer…

Hammond Transportation is once again proud to work with Parkbus to expand their popular city-to-park express bus service in the upcoming 2012 season. Destinations now include Algonquin Provincial Park, Killarney Provincial Park, Bruce Peninsula National Park and Tobermory. We have supported Parkbus ever since this grassroots, non-profit initiative began in 2010 and have worked make Ontario’s parks accessible to hundreds of Torontonians and tourists by express bus for the first time!

Hammond Transportation is one of Ontario’s premier, family-owned motorcoach operators and has provided scheduled bus service into Algonquin since the 1970s. Working with initiatives like Parkbus is a privilege that al-lows us to share some of our favourite places with new visitors and lifelong park enthusiasts.

As community stewards, we’ve worked hard to become an industry leader in green motorcoach travel and envi-ronmentally sound tourism. We were one of two Canadian operators who participated in “Green Certification for the Transportation Sector: The Pilot Certification Project for the Motorcoach Industry.” We are long term partici-pants in the Muskoka Envirocredits program in order to mitigate as much of our company’s environmental foot-print as possible.

One-way tickets range in price from $20-40. Buses depart downtown Toronto, making several stops in the city before heading directly to their park destination. In-park stops include campgrounds, canoe access points, lodges, outfitters and backpacking trails — allowing independent travellers to plan their own trip, solely using Parkbus for their transportation needs.
